Outdoor Lanterns: Grid Wire Mesh

With the weather warming up we are all ready to begin entertaining outdoors. Time to start cleaning up the patio furniture, decks and barbeques.

Outdoor lanterns are always a nice idea to illuminate entrances and patios for the summer. Here are a few ideas to brighten up your next outdoor party.

Wire Lanterns

These lanterns are wonderful for contemporary homes with more clean-line decks. Simply purchase some medium weight wire grid from your local hardware store and cut it into 12″ x 12″ pieces. Roll the wire into a cylinder and fasten with wire in three places to keep it together. Cut a piece of parchment paper and tape with scotch tape at the bottom to keep the cylindrical shape. Place the parchment paper inside the wire shape with the tape side down. Carefully insert a tea-light candle that has been placed inside a fireproof , glass holder inside the cylinder. At night the cylinder will illuminate!
