Wrapping It Up!

Published November 16, 2018

Take your holiday gift-wrapping to the next level this year.

It’s easy to set the tone for a memorable gift exchange when you plan a little ahead and add a personal touch to your holiday gifts.

These simple ideas will make your holiday gifts gorgeous in no time. After all, the gift-wrap should be as much fun as the present inside.               Photos:Pinterest.ca

Here’s a modern take on a traditional holiday gift-wrap.

A simple gift box is wrapped in glossy, white wrapping paper and wrapped in a strand of miniature tree baubles.

Look for your paper and decorative strands at your local craft store.

If you are unable to find miniature bauble strands, just make your own with decorative ribbon or string and add assorted beads.

Rustic meets luxe with this next gift-wrap idea.

Wrap your gift in plain, brown paper and set it aside.

Purchase miniature grapevine wreaths at your local craft store.

I found three-inch Ashland brand grapevine wreaths at Michaels.

Decorate these with fresh greens from your garden. Boxwood works well with this idea as well as fresh sprigs of cedar.

Use your glue gun to attach the wreath to the front of the package. These little decorated wreaths are great to slip on a bottle of wine for your next dinner party.

Packages get a high-end update when you mix metallics with various shades of gold and silver.

I love wrapping gifts in silver and gold shiny paper and adding contrasting shiny baubles.

Tie them off with a wide, satin ribbon and you are left with a gift sure to impress even the most discerning recipient.

Lastly, gifts don’t always have to come in boxes. Think outside the box this year with creative ideas when it comes to gift giving.

Go organic and wrap your gifts in fashionable fabrics in assorted colours.

Use baskets and reuseable gift bags this year and decorate them with holiday greens and berries.
