Valentines Day Wrap

Published February 13, 2019

This Valentine’s Day give your sweetheart a gift that they will remember.

First impressions are important when giving a gift. Why not take the time to make a good first impression on this special day.

Red yarn wrap

If you are fortunate enough to have some red yarn at home stored away this idea is easy and takes only minutes to make.

Cut out a 10-centimetre heart shape from some cardboard paper. Use this as your base to wrap the yarn. Completely wrap the heart shape until the heart begins to resemble a 3D shape. Use your glue gun to attach the loose end or simply tuck the loose end into the back of the heart. Attach the heart to a package wrapped in giftwrap paper.

“XO” squares

This idea is so simple but really effective. Simply wrap your gift in white paper, preferably glossy white, and set it aside. Purchase some red or pink yarn or baker’s twine and wrap the package with a single or double strand in the shape of a cross on the top. Using a pink or red Sharpie pen or paintbrush, write “X” and “O” in the opposing squares on top.

Heart garland

After wrapping your gift in pink, white or red wrapping paper, cut out small heart shapes from the papers and make a small hole in the centre of the hearts with a straight pin or barbecue skewer. Cut a large piece of red baker’s twine or red yarn and thread it through the centers of the cutout hearts. Wrap the garland around the pre-wrapped gift.

Clip on elegance

A white package wrapped in some thin gold ribbon or string is an elegant Valentine’s gift presentation. Attach a clothespin painted white and glue a gold glitter heart to the top of the clothespin. Look for gold glitter paper in craft stores.
