Spring Into Life!

Published May 03, 2019

Now is the perfect time to add colour and texture to your home and transition it into spring.

Simple touches such as fresh flowers and cheery colours can really change the appearance of your home for the spring season.

If you are looking for some simple and easy ways to add a little spring into your home this season you may want to try one of these ideas.

Fresh flowers
Who doesn’t like fresh flowers in their home during spring? There are loads of fresh tulips on store shelves at the moment and a vase or two of these beauties can really add that touch of spring to any room.

Garden ornaments
I love bringing in small, decorative garden ornaments inside the home during the spring and summer months. Small bunnies are especially cute on entrance foyer tables and coffee tables with some spring decorating books and a vase of fresh flowers are a nice touch.

Statement accent pillows
Designers will agree there is no easier way to add a wonderful pop of spring colour into a room than with bright accent pillows. Remove the neutral, fall pillows on your current sofa and replace them with fun and eye-catching toss cushions. Complement the toss cushions with a throw and some pretty spring candles.

Potted herbs
Fresh cut flowers do not have to be the only live accent added to a room. Potted herbs double nicely as a decorative feature to a room as well as their primary use in the kitchen. Use herbs such as basil, thyme and rosemary in pretty pots on windowsills and coffee tables. Not only do they smell lovely but they add a beautiful texture to living rooms and kitchens.

Spring bedding
It’s actually very easy to swap out your neutral, darker bedding that you used over the winter months to some fresh, colourful, spring bedding that will add a pop of colour to your room.

Or, alternatively you can keep things in a more muted theme with soft pastels and creams. Add a white vase filled with fuchsia pink tulips for added effect.

Lastly, don’t forget your bathrooms. It’s nice to add some fresh white towels and bathmats to these rooms and replace any older, darker towels that you may have used over the winter. Nothing says “fresh and clean” more than fluffy, white towels hanging on your towel racks.
